Building Resiliency in North Carolina webinar

May 20, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

North Carolina Forever will host the first in a series of educational webinars about issues facing our state’s lands and waters. The first, “Building Resiliency in North Carolina,” will take place from 4-5PM on May 20. Our panel will discuss the increasing frequency of flooding events, which affects North Carolina’s inland and coastal communities alike. We’ll explore what this means for the state as well as the efforts underway to increase our resiliency.

The webinar will be moderated by Environmental Defense Fund’s Will McDow who leads the development and implementation of EDF’s Landscape Resilience Initiative. Panelists include State Senate Majority Whip Senator Jim Perry, Wilmington, NC Mayor Bill Saffo, and Dr. Jess Whitehead, Executive Director of the Institute for Coastal Adaptation and Resilience (ICAR) at Old Dominion University.
