Area(s) of Expertise
I examine the issues of global change from the perspectives of intercultural communication, scientific communication, environmental rhetoric, and health risk communication. Much of my research focuses on health communication and medical rhetoric about emerging global epidemics, i.e., SARS, H1N1 flu, AIDS, and Zika. I also explore how Chinese citizens employed social media to help change China’s national policies governing PM2.5 and air quality control criteria.
