I am an Associate Professor of Forest Resource Economics in the Dept. of Forestry and Environmental Resources at NC State University and Director of the Southern Forest Resource Assessment Consortium (SOFAC). My lab focuses on the development and application of economic models that reflect spatial and temporal dependencies between markets, natural resource systems, infrastructure, and policy factors. My recent research covers a wide range of topics relevant to the SE CASC mission and research priorities, including forestry and land use sector modeling, integrated economic analysis of food-energy-water nexus topics, climate change mitigation and adaptation policy, interactions between trade policy and the environment, and renewable energy policy. Recent collaborations have focused on improving economic methods for projecting forest carbon stocks and land use/management change under different environmental, policy, and socioeconomic change assumptions.
