I am interested in developing methods to detect adaptive genetic variation in forest tree populations, and to predict performance of different genetic entries of forest trees (individuals, families, or populations) in different environments or under different climate conditions. Assessing the degree of phenotypic plasticity (different phenotypic responses of the same genotype to different environmental conditions) in forest tree populations is one approach to this, along with comparing the response of different genotypes to a common set of environmental conditions.
