Area(s) of Expertise
I have been studying landscape scale ecology since the mid-1980’s, and climate change since 1991. My primary area study is in landscape scale ecosystem modeling, with particular interest in integrated stress impacts. Areas of study in climate continental scale forest water/carbon interactions with climate and landuse change; climate change and nitrogen deposition impacts on forest soil critical acid loads; a high elevation red spruce, long-term (1988 to present) nitrogen fertilization/climate variability study; extreme precipitation impacts on forest soil erosion; and development of online climate change impacts and management option tools.
