Area(s) of Expertise
I work on climate variability and climate change from the perspective of the fluid dynamics of the atmosphere. Specific interests are in how storm tracks will change with global warming, the Arctic springtime transition, and the critical evaluation of climate model depictions of regional climate variability and change. I am also interested in classroom and public outreach education about climate and climate change. I regularly teach a graduate/undergraduate course in climate dynamics, I have given many public presentations on climate change (most recently in NC State’s Encore program), and I authored a book: Modeling Dynamic Climate Systems.
