Southeast CASC Presentations at the Carolinas Climate Resilience Conference – Update

The 2018 Carolinas Climate Resilience Conference is a three-day event that connects individuals across diverse sectors. This gathering of professionals provides a platform to share their related experiences, resources, and expertise in regard to climate adaptation solutions throughout the Carolinas. The conference is organized with the leadership of Kirstin Dow, Carolinas Integrated Sciences & Assessments and Southeast CASC Consortium Principal Investigator at University of South Carolina.
Resilience, or the capacity to recover from challenges, is a critical component of successful adaptation to climate variability. Originally, the conference was scheduled in September, however extreme weather related to Hurricane Florence postponed the event. This is an overt reminder of the resilience necessary to recover from current and future climate-related stressors. Consequently, the conference was rescheduled for October 29th – October 31st at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
The Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Center is thrilled to have researchers, Faculty Affiliates, Global Change Fellows, and SE CASC staff presenting at this year’s CCRC. Their presentation schedule is detailed below. We will also be sponsoring a table and will have a poster at the Networking and Poster Reception from 5:15 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, October 29th. If you are at CCRC, come learn about the great work we support!
