Publications

Empowering long-term, relational research pathways: innovation and adaptation at the speed of trust within more-than-human and human communities. Emotion, Space, and Society

The authors argue that moving beyond outdated data-exchange paradigms in research require adopting relational approaches to applied research. They highlight a case study of Kapukapu community on Hawaiʻi Island in which interpersonal linkages and expanded networks led to output from a series of community-driven graduate research projects.

EPA Dynamically Downscaled Ensemble (EDDE): Datasets for Adaptation and Resilience Planning for Environmental Endpoints. Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society

In this paper, the authors describe the history, evolution, applications, availability, and future of the EPA Dynamically Downscaled Ensemble (EDDE). The EDDE supports strategic development, adaptation, and resilience planning for a sustainable future, so they also explore the evolving needs of regional climate datasets to support decision-making.

Economic valuation of ecosystem services and natural infrastructure: A quantitative review of the literature. Ecosystem Services

In this paper, the authors use bibliometric techniques to review the literature on economic valuation of ecosystem services and natural infrastructure. They found an increase in economic valuation studies in the last fifteen years, with a prominent focus on recreation and tourism ecosystem services, marine infrastructure and stated preference valuation methods. They also identify knowledge gaps in the geographical coverage, ecosystem services, natural infrastructure, and valuation methods considered.
