Join the SE CASC Global Change Fellows for a Global Change Seminar “Indigenous Leadership in Conservation from Yellowstone to Yukon”

This seminar will be a panel with:
– Adam Linnard from the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative
– Elliot Fox Indigenous Communities Liaison, The Resilience Institute and member of the Kainai First Nation
– Matoomiikamoosaaki (First Steals Woman) / Latasha Calf Robe (english name) of the Kainaiwa First Nation, Niitsítapi Water Protectors (NWP)

Summary:
The Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y) is a transboundary organization with a mission to protect and maintain connectivity among the critical habitat from Yellowstone to Yukon. With a focus on protecting the needs of both wildlife and the communities that live in this region, Y2Y works collaboratively with partners across the many jurisdictions to tackle local issues that enhance connectivity of this landscape across the region.

As part of their commitment to the rights, health, and inclusion of people in this work, Y2Y supports Indigenous leadership in conservation and a move towards greater sovereignty in land management decision-making. Adam Linnard of Y2Y will be joined by members of the Kainaiwa First Nation (Blood Tribe) Elliot Fox, Indigenous Community Liaison with the Resilience Institute, and Matoomiikamoosaaki (First Steals Woman) / Latasha Calf Robe (english name), member of the grassroots collective Niitsítapi Water Protectors, to discuss the projects being led by Indigenous Peoples in the Y2Y region.
