Building a more consistent Blueprint: Progress so far toward Southeast Blueprint 2022

April 21, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

South Atlantic Third Thursday Web Forum

“Building a more consistent Blueprint: Progress so far toward Southeast Blueprint 2022” with Rua Mordecai, Coordinator of the Southeast Conservation Blueprint

More consistency in methods and indicators is one of the most requested improvements for the Southeast Conservation Blueprint. This is becoming increasingly important as more people are now wanting to use the Southeast Blueprint across large multi-state areas. This year, there’s going to be a big leap forward in that consistency as we use the same indicators and methods across most of the Southeast. We’re calling this new Southeast Blueprint input, which uses consistent methods and indicators across 12-15 states of the SECAS geography, the “Base Blueprint”–because it will form the base of the Southeast Blueprint.

In this webinar, Rua will cover the modeling approach for this new Base Blueprint, what improvements you can expect to see, and the progress we’ve made so far. He’ll also talk about next steps, including corridor modeling, a round of virtual workshops in May where you can provide feedback on the draft Blueprint priorities, and the timeline for the final release of the data. We hope you’ll join us to learn more about this exciting phase of the evolution of the Southeast Blueprint!
