Bio

Alan has worked as a conservation biologist and program manager for the State of North Carolina, where he combined wildlife management knowledge and communications skills to translate complex scientific ideas and program outcomes into engaging content. He received his B.Sc from the University of Staffordshire and an M.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida. His final year research project focused on American alligator perceptions and management preferences in North Carolina. A self-taught graphic designer and illustrator, Alan enjoys finding new ways to communicate scientific information to wide audiences.

As the Communications and Engagement Manager for the Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Center, Alan will support internal and external communications with partners across the university consortium.
