About
I am a second-year PhD student in the Mamoozadeh Molecular Ecology Lab. My diverse professional background spans private industry, state, and federal agencies, providing me with a unique perspective on aligning varied institutional priorities to achieve shared ecological objectives. Specifically, I am interested in incorporating molecular tools to inform conservation strategies within aquatic biology, with my recent work focusing on freshwater systems. As a Global Change Research Fellow, I am eager to bridge the gap between my research and applied decision-making while learning from peers and mentors whose interdisciplinary expertise extends beyond my own field.
Research Interests
My research will leverage molecular techniques to investigate population diversity and thermal tolerance of brook trout across the native range. Using genetically informed climate forecasting, I will assess the risk of native brook trout populations; equipping fisheries managers with the knowledge necessary to inform proactive, rather than reactive, management strategies. A central goal of my project, and my career overall, is to combat biodiversity loss by generating actionable knowledge to guide effective management aimed at protecting the longevity of ecologically and economically valuable wildlife.
