Bio

Maira Brondizio is the Climate Science Program and Communications Scholar as an ORISE Research Program Participant. In this role she is researching science communications and outreach practices to improve the effectiveness of SE CASC communication activities as well as supporting operations. In her work she pursues interdisciplinary approaches to complex problems ranging from the study of natural and artificial intelligence in her undergraduate program, to working with a multidisciplinary team to co-design energy solutions for off-grid communities in the Brazilian Amazon during her master’s. She has a professional background in content marketing and non-profit management, and a research background in sustainability science, energy justice, and media coverage of technology and science. Maira is focused on getting a wide variety of audiences engaged with and excited about the science coming out of SE CASC.
