Bio

Patricia is a social scientist with an academic background in Marine Affairs and Geography, and a certificate in GIS and Remote Sensing. She has worked in the field of conservation and protected areas management and has experience in qualitative and ethnographic research. She is passionate about social well-being and environmental protection, as well as sustainable development grounded in community participation. As an ORISE Fellow, she will collaborate with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the Puerto Rico Coastal Zone Management Program within the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources to develop the Puerto Rico Coastal Erosion Emergency Protocol (PEEC-PR).
