May 9 – Brown Bag Talk: Potential Impacts of Climate Change on Soil Erosion Vulnerability Across the Conterminous U.S
The Triangle Climate & Landscape Researchers’ Brown Bag presents:
Talk title: Potential Impacts of Climate Change on Soil Erosion Vulnerability Across the Conterminous U.S.
Date: Thursday, May 9
Time: 12:00 – 1:30pm
Speaker: Catalina Segura, Post-doctoral Fellow, North Carolina State University.
This study examines climate induce effect on rainfall-runoff erosivity between 1970-2090 across the United States under 9 climate projections predicted by 3 General Circulation Models for 3 emission scenarios (A2, A1B, and B1). In doing so, researchers were able to look at a novel approach to evaluate future trends on soil erosion vulnerability which will aid future watershed management actions.
The Brown Bag will be held in the Wildlife Resources Commission building on NCSU’s Centennial Campus – 1751 Varsity Drive, Raleigh. Please note that we will be in the 5th Floor Training Room. There is free parking in the deck behind the building.
