Bridging the Partisan Divide with Resilience Solutions
Monday, March 1, 2021 | 1:00pm (ET) – 2:30pm (ET)
North Carolina is emerging as a model for how to move equitable climate adaptation and resilience policy forward in a deeply “purple” state. Join the planners and policy makers who are forging partnerships at the state and regional level to ensure communities, across the political spectrum, are gaining access to funding and other resources that they need to implement climate adaptation solutions.
The session will highlight how NEMAC/Fernleaf and other climate service providers play a critical role working with partners to implement climate adaptation and resilience solutions in political contexts where climate may still be a divisive issue, but action is necessary.
Speakers:
Amanda Martin, Deputy Chief Resilience Officer, North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency
Mary Roderick, Regional Planner, Land of Sky Regional Planning Authority
Jim Fox, Senior Resilience Associate, NEMAC+FernLeaf
Matt Hutchins, Senior Resilience Analyst, NEMAC+Fernleaf
Discussant: Beth Gibbons, Executive Director ASAP
Facilitator: Emily Wasley, Practice Leader, WSP’s Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change team and ASAP President
