Summary: Intergenerational learning has been occurring in one shape or form for hundreds of years. Recently, there has been a surge of research surrounding how children can teach their parents about a number of issues. In particular, climate change is a contentious topic in some communities, but recent research has shown that children have the power to influence their parents’ opinions. In this panel, we convene with researchers who study the impact that children can have on their parents and the world around them. In this seminar, we will discuss the state of climate change education in our schools, what this means for intergenerational learning and future research. Further, we will discuss the influence intergenerational learning can have on communities and families.
