SE RISCC: Eco-evolutionary context modifies a destructive plant invader’s response to climate
November 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Dr. Megan Vahsen is an evolutionary ecologist who joined the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia as an Assistant Professor in January 2025. Her research bridges experimental, statistical, and modeling approaches to explore how organisms evolve in response to climate change, and how those responses influence population, community, and ecosystem processes. Dr. Vahsen’s work has been recognized by the Ecological Society of America, and she received the 2024 George Mercer Award for her paper “Rapid plant trait evolution can alter coastal wetland resilience to sea level rise” published in Science.
