In a new research publication, the entire North American Coastal Plain – stretching from Cape Cod to northern Mexico – has been designated as one of three-dozen global biodiversity hotspots. Jennifer Costanza, a North Carolina State University scientist whose research is supported by the Southeast Climate Science Center, was one of several people who helped gain this designation.
