Area(s) of Expertise

Carol is responsible for overseeing the activities of a set of data products from the start of a project through publication for the Northeast, Southeast and National Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs) as their Data Steward. Each CASC has a Data Steward to work with publicly funded scientists on the development of a Data Management Plan, answer any questions related to data management, and assist with the transition of data and information products into the CASC data repository, also known as ScienceBase. ScienceBase is open to the public so that anyone may access climate related research data funded by the CASCs. In addition to ensuring publicly funded research is made available to the public, Carol is also responsible for communicating and raising awareness of the important climate related research conducted by scientists across the CASC network. She has a B.S in Chemistry and a B.A in Environmental Studies from Wofford College and a M.S in Geology from University of Maryland, College Park.
