Background

Sierra is a community ecologist broadly interested in how plant communities and their associated ecosystem functions are being impacted by human-driven global change and the attributes that promote resilience to these changes. At SE CASC, Sierra is synthesizing the ecological impacts of extreme and compounding climate events throughout the Southeast and US Caribbean. She is passionate about bridging the gap between basic ecology and applied research to address climate change adaptation. Sierra received her PhD from Indiana University and MS from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
