The SE Climate Science Center Welcomes New University Director, Nick Haddad
Dr. Nick Haddad, the William Neal Reynolds Professor of Applied Ecology, has been named as the SE Climate Science Center’s new university director. Nick was an original principal investigator on the proposal to host the SE CSC at NC State University in 2010. He has also been an active faculty affiliate of the center over the past six years having taken a keen interest in the Global Change Fellows program– one of the signature programmatic areas of the SE CSC. He is widely respected in the field of habitat loss and fragmentation on populations, communities, and ecosystems and specifically in the conservation and recovery of endangered butterflies. He also manages the Conservation Corridor webpage, a repository of information on the research of connectivity and conservation management. Nick is a strong advocate of communicating and collaborating across disciplines and finds this approach critical to supporting effective conservation and management strategies in the face of climate change. Among other interests including science communication, gardening and cooking Lebanese food, Nick is completing a book on the natural history of the most endangered butterflies in the world. Please join us in welcoming Nick in his new role at the SE CSC.
