2nd Annual Bob Gough “climate change is inevitable, adaptation is optional” Public Symposium

December 11, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The Rising Voices Center for Indigenous and Earth Sciences is hosting a public online event to honor the legacy of its co-founder, Bob Gough. This year’s symposium will address current intersecting disasters  related to climate change, the COVID-19 health crises, and ongoing social injustice. In exploring the cumulative effect of disasters, we will focus on how we bring our whole selves into climate-related work, centering Indigenous knowledge systems and expanding the inclusivity and diversity of knowledge systems in the Earth Sciences.

Speakers include:  Paulette Blanchard, she/her (U. of Kansas/IPCCWG), Alex Kimball Williams, she/her or they/them (U. of  Kansas), Jasmine Neosh, she/her (College of Menominee Nation), Melissa Watkinson, she/her (Washington Sea Grant), Kyle Powys Whyte (U. of Michigan), and Daniel Wildcat (Haskell Indian Nations U.)
