GA Coastal Management Program: Disaster Recovery and Redevelopment Planning Webinar

Enhancing Coastal Georgia’s Resilience, One County at a Time
The State of Georgia has worked to systematically increase its coastal resilience by developing disaster recovery and resilience plans at the county level.
Aligned with FEMA’s National Disaster Response Framework, these plans 1) identify priority community assets; and 2) describe opportunities to build back stronger after a disaster. Simulated emergency scenarios and a major recovery and resilience conference were part of this effort to engage communities and continuously build resilience capacity. In this webinar, Jennifer Kline with Georgia’s Coastal Management Program will share project outcomes and insights gained, and will discuss next steps. Chuck White, Camden County’s Emergency Management Director, will provide the local perspective.
This resilience-building project was led by the Georgia Coastal Management Program, and funding was provided through a NOAA Coastal Resilience Grant, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and other partners
