Cities trap a lot of heat, causing a phenomenon known as the heat island effect. Learn about heat islands, their impacts on cities, and how you can help us learn more about heat islands in the Raleigh-Durham area this summer as we take part in the 2021 NIHHISCAPA Heat Watch Campaign.
