NC State Applied Ecology Seminar: Two Bee or Not Two Bee: Quantifying Pollinators Across Large Landscapes

We are pleased to invite you to this year’s Brandt Lecture!! Our last Spring 2023 Biology, Ecology, and Evolution Seminar Series (BEESS) seminar will be on Thursday, April 6th, 2023, from 3:00-4:15 pm at DCL 101 and via Zoom.

We are excited to host Dr. Olivia Messinger Carril as a Brandt speaker for a seminar titled “Two Bee or Not Two Bee: Quantifying Pollinators Across Large Landscapes.” Dr. Carril is a native bee scientist and teacher at Santa Fe Girls’ School, New Mexico. She earned her PhD in Plant Biology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Her research area entails bees, pollination, chemical ecology, biogeography, and insect conservation. She has two published books on North America’s native bees- “The Bees in Your Backyard” and “Common Bees of Eastern North America.”

Students, Postdocs, Faculty, and Staff: We are organizing a “catered and potluck” dinner after the Brandt seminar at our very own Dr. John Godwin’s place at 5 pm! You are welcome to bring drinks, snacks, and desserts. If you would like to attend the dinner, please fill out this form by March 29th,2023!
