Reetam Majumder

Reetam is a member of the inaugural 2021-2022 "Future of Fire" cohort in the CASC Network Climate Adaptation Postdoctoral Fellows Program. He is working with the Southeast CASC at North Carolina State University. 

Reetam received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he worked on stochastic precipitation generators using remote sensing data and on models for classifying annual and seasonal forest cover for Panama as part of a project informing on the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 15.2.1. Reetam's broad research interests lie in Bayesian and Deep Learning applications for geostatistical problems, in particular the environmental and societal impacts of extreme weather and climate change.
